BC coilovers. About 3 inches. I think Tanabe NFs or the F springs are your safest and cheapest option.

Yes I have the same problem and took it to the dealership and they told me it's quite normal.

:Bump instead of new thread: Anybody find a solution to this issue? I'm having the same problem with 350 AWD with everything stock. I feel the same vibration when I'm in park\idle and it's starting to get much worse. Going to take it to the dealership but want an idea of root cause before it goes in.

I have the same issue and its bothering me. At a redlight, vibration goes away 100% when I throw the tranny in to N and the engine idles like a true lexus. When I pull it back in to D position it vibrates and gives me a body massage. I think the problem is in the drivetrain...dealer also told me this was a normal 'feature'
Anybody know the reason for this?

Guys have your engine mounts checked. The symptoms point to it, and it's not uncommon for mounts to wear out a bit after a few years.

Mine improved markedly after I had the valve springs replaced on my GS300. The jury is still out as I only had it done yesterday, but it seems so far to have improved even more after I had the top engine cleaning done.

Last winter, sometimes the car would really shake at a light... felt like I was on a riding lawnmower. Stock suspension.

To date Lexus has done all of this to try to remedy the randomly poor idle of my car, bless their souls for investing so much into it to try to make a second hand owner of a far from fanciest Lexus model happy:

1) Replaced O2 Sensors with redesigned ones.
2) Replaced engine ECU with redesigned one.
3) Replaced valve springs with redesigned ones.
4) Top engine carbon buildup clean (spark plugs out, marinate in special sauce method).

Of course, Lexus didn't do all of the above at once... it's been happening over the course of the last maybe 6 months or so.

Prior to all of the above, I replaced the spark plugs early on my own dime. I should have waited because my spark plugs have now been out twice already as part of TSB service so I paid for that labor when I wouldn't have needed to.

I'm hoping that the above cocktail keeps the car happy for at least another 100,000 km. If the top engine clean seems to make a significant difference over the next few weeks with the behavior of the car I'm planning on asking them to perform it as regular maintenance along with the spark plug changes since most of the labor will already be done with the spark plugs out anyway.

For those with 350s, if you're getting your plugs done soon ask about them doing the top engine clean while they're at it. It's not a TSB for 350s (at least not yet) but it certainly can't hurt and it MUST do a lot better of a job than any kind of induction service could.

Mine also does it too. Stock all the way around. Oh well. Its not bothering me that much. Worse in the morning when car is cold. I bought mine in May so this is my first winter with the Lex.

Dealer said it was all normal, along with that direct injection ticking thing too

Is there is special type of fuel injector clean im supposed to use on direct injection engines? Or can i just toss in my usual Redline SI-1 Fuel system cleaner?

No product added to the gas will do anything at the root of the problem in a pure DI engine like the GS300 or IS250. If you search you'll find the explanation why, I don't want to type it out again.

For the GS300 there is a TSB to do a top engine clean, if you're still under powertrain warranty ask a service advisor about it.

A friend with an '08 GS350 AWD complained to his service advisor about this issue. They gave him a loaner and have had the car for about a week now while they fix what is apparently a known issue to them.

I called my service advisor (different dealership) and was told I'm the first to have ever complained about this. I'm supposed to take my car in this week for an inspection.

I've also been after my friend to have his service advisor tell him what the issue is and what exactly is being fixed. I'll share any info I'm able to find either through my friend or from my service visit later this week.

I'm thinking I got myself a oil burner lol. 500 miles after I cleaned my exhaust tips its back to carbon black color. Not to mention my ashy spark plugs I just changed.
