Default Reduce duration of automatic on/off headlights

Apologize in advance, but I could not find any reference to this question.

How do you reduce the duration of the automatic on/off project headlights on 2008 GS? Settings is 30 seconds and I would like to reduce to 5-10.

I am not sure I understood the question, but sensitivity of the automatic "turn-on" lights is part of Lexus Personolized Settings. If you are talking about how long the lights stay on after you shut the engine off, it is also part of LPS. On my car I made them to go off as soon as the driver door opens.

Just press lock button one more time to forse them to switch off.

why would you want them to turn off faster. it is a light your way feature.it takes about 20-30 seconds from the time you turn off the car to the time you walk in the door so it lights up your way. safety?

That setting can be changed as part of the GS personalized settings.
However, you only have four choices.
1. Turn off immediately
2. Turn off in 30 seconds
3. Turn off in 60 seconds
4. Turn off in 90 seconds.
But like vladbph stated, the headlights will turn off with a second press of the lock button on your remote/fob.

There are actually 15 different features that have personlized settings.
Here is a pdf listing them:

I use this feature as i park in the garage and my garage light is kind of funky. Before i had the GS, i would have to use my phone is my flashlight.

But on your next visit to lexus, tell them you want to change the setting and they'll do it for you.

Click the lock button twice when getting out of the car and it will shut off right away.

If you buy a new Lexus, you get one free shot at all changes guring 1000 mi check-up. After that it all depends on your relations with the dealership. They charged me $60 to de-activate my DRL.

Lexus is starting to follow the lead of the German cars, the new RX have bought out a lot of the personlized settings into the center display unit.
