Hi everyone. Just picked up my 2nd GS. Found a 06 GS 300 AWD here in Denver. Sliver/Black, loaded. Great ride only 30,000 miles. Any suggestions on my first MODS......

i used to live in denver. you can never be sure during the winter when it will be snowing or 65-degrees and sunny.. so i would recommend:

1) 20" wheels that you can use from april - end of sept. then use your stock wheels from oct - end of march.

2) lower your car.. seems peeps with AWD here are using tanabe nf210's.

3) gas-powered power washer. with all the snow/ice/dirt that cakes on during the winter, i found it easy to powerwash the guck off (and it makes for warm hands when washing your car in the winter).

congrats on the buy. since the car is loaded, i would suggest the dvd/navi bypass or the ipod integration kit.

Congrats! I second on the gas powered pressure washer. I'm in Wisconsin and it helps greatly get all that road grime off they put down.

I too would like to know your buying cost since i bought also the same thing but black on black for 34,800can without taxes. I always wonder the cost of that car in the US with the same specs.

2006 gs 300 (RWD) list for +/- $33,000 with 25k-35k miles here in so. cal.

the gs 300's that don't have navigation list for $29k.

2007 gs350's are around $37k for ones under 30k miles.

prices from lexus dealerships that are CPOs... you can find them a few thousand less if you go non-CPO or buy from a private seller.

Congrats on the purchase.. Welcome to CL.

First thing I would do is to drop it. Even on stock wheels a drop will make a big difference.

Thanks for the warm welcome. For those that have asked, here is my deal. The car has most all options except NAVI/Levinson. Silver/Black. Purchased and serviced at the local Lexus dealer since new. In service date of 9/06, so I have another 12 months factory warranty. Mileage is 32,500. AWD. Car is honestly a 9.9 out of 10. Full front clear bra, mirrors and trunk guard. Car was advertised for $32,900. Dealt stictly with the Internet Manager via email for 2 days. Told him his price was way high. Finally made an appt to drive the car. I had already pulled car fax, KUNI Lexus dealer service records etc. So I knew the car was well taken car of and only 1 previous owner.

I was a cash buyer so the negociation was pretty easy. Sat down, offered $25k out the door. They came back at $29,999 plus tax. I pulled out the check book with the Sales manager and the Sales person sitting with me in the office. Wrote out a check in the amount of $27,000. Slid the check over to the Sales manager and told him he had 10 minutes to take my check and get me the paperwork, or I was leaving and heading to pickup a different car. He came back in about 10-15 minutes, all paperwork processed and waiting for my signature. So, the answer is $27,000 including tax, D&H and some stupid protection package they warranty the paint and upholstery for 5 years. I have priced out the Lexus Platinum Warranty and it is looking like I can grab that for about $1800.

All in all....I am very happY
