Default Do any of you have this problem, with windshield sprayer?

Like the topic states, I have a problem with my windsheild cleaner interfering with my headlight system. Whenever I use the spray feature for the first time during a trip somewhere, my headlights shut off, the sprayer doesn't work until like 2 seconds later, and then all is fine after. Its like this everytime, kind of dangerous to me, is this normal?

you sure the headlights turn off?? remember the headlight washers are also activated with windshield washer and may obscure the headlight beam pattern as the fluid sprays on there but that may be it.

You sure it turns off? Maybe dim but not turn off, the dimming could be from the headlight nozzles spraying when you try to clean the windshield.

Yup its only looks like it turns off since the headlight washer jets spray the lights and dim it

I don't think it shuts off. You can have someone activate the washers while in-park but have the headlights on and see for yourself.

How can it be the headlight sprayer though, isn't that a completely different button in the drop down panel to the left of the steering wheel? Or is it the windshield washer feature controls both the headlight and windsheild?

i thought the headlamp washers were sooooooooooooooooooo pointless. i mean come on it just sprays? whats that going to do. my mother in law 2004 volvo s60 has wipers on the headlights to actually wipe and clean them. what a worthless $100 option on the gs.

The headlight sprayer comes on if the headlights are on and the windshield wipers are activated.

You don't need the wipers if the point is to get snow and ice off the headlights. The sprayer works fine for that purpose.

In many cars, every 5 or so "timed" windshield washer requests is supplemented by a headlight spray. Its the same way as the LS, and many other cars.
