Looking at the local ads here, than are only 2 GS 350s:

2008 GS 350 w/NAV 38,200km $48,800
2009 GS 350 w/NAV/ML 1,480km $57885
These are all non-CPO.
I'm pretty sure they will sell close to that, as you can barely find a GS unless you go to the US or another province.

The long term test from Road & Track magazine on the 2008 Lexus ISF shows that the car lost $20,678 in value in 1 year. Thats like 37% decrease in value in one year . I know all cars are going to lose value immediately off the lot, but 37% in 12 months. OUCH!!!! I guess in the future I will buying CPO Lexus vehicles because of this. I dont think the German cars other than Mercedes will drop in value this quickly
American cars loose 50% in the first year. Cheack the Manheim Motor Report. Dealers will pay a few thousand less so when they run them through the auction they can make a few bucks.

This is why I got our '06 instead of anything newer, that and I don't think we could have afforded anything more Last year it seemed to be the sweet spot for depreciation. It hasn't lost must of anything in a year it's still going for $26,100 wholesale and I paid slightly over $27 for it.

Kind of figured that. He started with $28K and bump it to $30 if I bought car I was looking at. He didn't discount selling price so He was probably playing with the numbers.

I don't think that's rapid depreciation. I was considering a used 550i earlier this year, before I bought my GS460. BMW dealer offered me a CPO 2007 550i for 33,000. So compared with that the Lexus GS is a rock solid asset.

I was looking at a 2006 BMW M5 with the V10 as a slow"ER" daily driver . Those things sold for easily $100-110k+ new with options, title, and tax. You can pick up a great condition one right now with around 50k miles for $40k. That's gotta hurt big time, but great for me

It depreciates no worse than the Germans. Want a heart attack? Price a 545 or 550 with a MSRP of 70k and see what the price is today. Price a AMG car.

As Henry stated, Luxury cars depreciate a lot if you buy new.
Agreed, especially in this economy and most of the German cars depreciate even faster, especially those at the end of life cycle like the E-class.
