Tires for 18 x 8 Machine Tourmaline wheels
Guys I'm in the process of buying some 18" Tourmaline wheels for my GS 350 AWD. I'm trying to decide on the best set of tires to go for. I'm looking at the Ultra high performance all season categories.
I've looked on tire rack, and it looks like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus are the best but they got for like $228 each. The bridgstone Pilot Sport A/S Plus seems to be what I'm leaning towards, and the cost $170 each. the Good year Eagle F1 All Season seems to be third. I'm open to suggestions. Any help or input is appreciated!!
I'm looking at a 245/40/18

general is another tire company, exclaim uhp is a model of tire that tirerack carries. Nice quiet well handling tire that will last about 20-30k miles depending on driving habits, that is an average tire lifespan for ultra high perf tires. The a/s+ tires have a 45k warranty !!

Can't comment on the tires but 245/40R18 is the right choice for size. That is the size I have on our GS300 AWD and the speedo is almost dead on. It does have a every so slight rub on the front with my 18x8 niche wheels I'm unsure the offset as they came on the car.

If you never see snow and ice, then you may want to consider a summer performance tire. For that category, I can only suggest the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. From my experience, a phenominal tire.

I also experience a minor rub with my 245/40-18 tires on stock Lexus rims as well (stock offsets are 45). It is not the sidewall of the tire hitting the inside of the fender. From the wear marks under the wheel well, it must be the inside edge of the tire barely scraping the wheel well panel only when I make a tight left turn while and applying the brakes. In other words, it only happens when the front end of the car dips while turning left.

Nope my car's not lowered. I have the exact problem steviej has. It's really not that bad it very rarely ever happens, my wife never notices it so I don't feel the need to do anything about it.

thanks just making sure I didnt goof by ordering the 18x8 Tourmaline's. If there were a fix for it, what would it be? and is it on all 4 tires or only the front??
