who said the axle back system is cheap?? The tanabe medalion gives 0 performance and NO sound for $1k..... while the above exhaust I mentioned is a cat-back system, HP gain, lovely sound for $1.1k!

Anything Titanium for BMW is in the $4000 range. The real titanium not something that they say is titanium and you get cheap stainless. Titanium exhaust are really hard to work with and the raw materials are expensive. I have heard of them going up to the $6000 range when you get into the really good stuff.

keep it less than 1k and you will probably move more. Any reason why you dont want to do an axle back system. Its all more show than go. I say make the tips look perfect and make it freakishly quiet/almost stock in resonance and you will sell them like hot cakes. These systems are being made for Lexus sedans. No matter what the owner thinks it is not and never will be a sports sedan. They are at best luxury cars with sporting intentions. (ISF excluded)99% of GS tuning is cosmetic. Line it up with this and I think you will move some units

Power is definitely top priority or an exhaust system is a waste. Droning is also not an option! I believe an perfect exhaust should roar under moderate-heavy acceleration and should be just a tad louder than stock when coasting or at idle. It should not sound like a civic with a $50 muffler welded on neither. IMHO if there was a cat-back out there available for my 06 GS430 that made somewhere along 7-15HP and sounds just like factory...i'd be all over it! The stock exhaust sounds awesome anyway, I personally like it just a few dB louder.
When I had my 01 ITR(Integra Type R). I had a catback from Hytech. They used the dual-bypass mufflers. Mugen Racing used the same thing but they called it their twin-loop cat-back. Although they were basically the same thing...Hytech cat-backs made slightly more HP on a dyno. My friend had the Mugen and I had the Hytech, both cat-backs were extremely quiet when coasting and at idle just a tad louder than stock, anything past 4k sounded real mean. I liked the fact that it made my car a "sleeper" and sometimes I just don't want the noise when I'm coasting.
oh yea...the Hytech was also Header back, not catback.
