^^ temperatures don't change the performance of your hid bulbs, only changes the color.

Your performance factors would come from the wattage of the ballast, quality life of the bulb, and quality of the lens.

actually color temperature does change the performance somewhat. the higher the color temperature, the less the usable lights. so theoretically 6000k gives out less light than 5500k

and moreover, different brand can have different results too. high quality bulbs (philips, osram, etc...) they have more consistency and better light output. i have seen some cheap quality "6000k" bulbs and they are nothing close to my previous philips 6000k

Here is a table of Kelvin vs Lumens in a HID bulb:

3000K = 4000lu
4300K = 3200lu
6000K = 2900lu
8000K = 2450lu
10000K = 2200lu
12000K = 1800lu

The lense has a lot to do with the color output, thats why HIDs in cars such as Audi, Acura or Range Rover look so white even if they are only 4300K.

Hey KY.. How does these Philips 6000k compare to your previous PIAA 5500k in color wise? I got the same philips bulbs 6 months ago and been using them. They are very bright and illuminates the whole road , but still think they are a bit yellowish for my taste.

I think compare with the PIAA 5500K they are a bit bluer in output but you do loose a little bit of the visibility. But it is still better then a lot of the 6000K bulbs that I have had in the past. overall a very good bulb.

I will have to agree with KY on this one. I have them and they are superb in quality comparing from all the different bulbs i've tried. These are super bright, lights up the whole road like OEM bulbs, the light output is crystal white, NO BLUE or PURPLE effect.

I picked up KY's Philips 5000K d4s bulbs and could not be happier. White with a hint of blue....very awesome.

Kev:

I dont think you wont find them on ebay, b/c these bulbs are not permitted for sale on the USA. On the base of the bulbs its has a stamp saying "europe and asia use only"
