What are the average correct idle speeds when:

1) Cold start
2) Warming up
3) Coolant at normal temperature

In my garage (underground, ambient temp around 18C/65F), I've noticed that it starts, and races up to around 1500 rpm for a short bit, then settles down around 1000 and stays around there... I keep forgetting to check it after driving around for a while, though.

Seems kind of high to me.

sounds right, should settle to somewhere around 600-800, depending on in P or D

mine idles at 1500 when it starts up and stays at 900 after heating up then 600 when i put it on d.

Good to know. Seems like my car is doing what it should. It also stays around 650 or so at idle in drive after warmed up... I was mainly concerned about the 1500 start up idle, it seems kind of racey as even my 8000rpm redlining xrs didn't idle that fast at startup.

cold start I get 1500, I usually wait about a minute for it to get to 1k then put it in drive.
