Instead, I look for a corner parking spot or a spot on an end of a row, and I park at an angle in the corner spot, or slightly wide on the end of the row so 2 of my wheels are on the diagnally striped painted area. This doesn't take up an extra spot, doesn't obstruct traffic, but provides a modicum of protection from dings.

No doult about Lexus's advantage over the Germans in reliability, but to say the GS350 can handle like the BMW is owner's bias here I guess. Personally, I dont think its even close, there is a reason why so many more people buy BMW 5 series instead of the GS, and its not because the 5 series is more reliable or a better value.
U also forgot some of the MAIN reasons the 5 outsells the GS.
1. It is SUPPOSED to sell more than the GS
2.They have more models
3. The 5 is king of this class
4. Lease Deals Lexus cannot match with the GS
this pot stirring will not fly in 2010.

In reading the Phoenix Sunday newspaper automobile want ads, there wasn't one GS (of any generation) for sale in the Lexus section. I've noticed this before - relatively very few GS models showing up in the want ads. Not so with BMW 5's (again, relatively speaking). It appears, at least in my neck of the woods, we have a somewhat exclusive commodity.
