Has your Lexus changed your driving style ????
I was noticing today how easy I take it when I drive my GS. When I had my g35 I was constantly racing the car, doing track days, and tapping the rev limiter. I have even had multiple criminal speeding tickets in my G35. Once I got my GS I have toned it down a huge amount. I am always cruising. I never race anyone and I dont drive it like I was trying to break it. The car inspires you to drive more relaxed with its smooth ride and silent cabin. All I want to do is throw on down tempo grooves and cruise. I feel like an old man but loving it.
Has your Lexus changed your driving style???
PS its gotta Lexus thats calmed down because I was racing a dude in volvo while I was driving an Acura RDX loaner from the dealership yesterday.

there is not much of a driving style in the gs imho, it's a great car to bring me from point a to point b and gives me a comfortable ride. or maybe coz' this is my 5th lexus in 7 yrs.
now driving the m3, it's a totally different story.

Yes, but mostly because I've gone from a 6 speed 2ZZ-GE XRS, to something automatic that constantly is telling me that I'm burning money (fuel economy readout).
But I agree, in my GS I don't feel the need to wring the car's neck like I did with the Matrix XRS to get some kind of enjoyment out of driving it.

I remember feeling my G35 had endless grip in the turns ( Fully tuned suspension ). The GS holds up pretty well but the added weight, size, and electric steering ruin the intense driving experience that my G35 would give me on a track or mountain road. I miss trying to nail that perfect line coming out of a corner with the motor at 1000 rpm below redline and just flying out of the corners with the sounds of that full exhaust and powerful v6. Heaven......... but now I am looking for silent cabins, extra mpg, and less trips to shops and dealership service areas. I push my GS from time to time but its never in the corners. Example : playing chase me with an S class Benz for an hour on the way to LA from AZ. Awesome cruising at 100 + mph with some nice music . Funny thing was the dude in the benz passed me a couple of times at easily 120 mph and the lady in the front passenger seat had her face planted in a magazine like they were doing 60 mph. On long trips at open highway speeds the Lexus is geared better, quieter, and smoother than my old worked G35.

I drive the same way, because it's the 1st automatic (and 4-door) I've had in over 30 years. Although I appreciate the car for what it is, I'll return to a BMW coupe/6-speed in the forseeable future. The GS will be a fine machine 20 years down the road.

Most definately!
I agree with OP- I now lay back and cruise instead of constantly trying to break the sound barrier! lol.
The more refined ride of the Lexus soothes and relaxes for a different driving experience than I was used to.
When I feel the need for speed ..... I drive my Viper!

I am completely the same way coming from a modified 04 M3 Coupe. It has definitely calmed my driving down, almost too much. I catch myself paying less attention to the road sometimes since it is so smooth and an automatic(less interactive). Currently, I don't even want to mod this car, but we'll see how long that lasts. Like Bavaria, I will definitely be going back to the darkside as well.

it has a bit but not too much. any car i usually drive i just cruise and take my time. i noticed with my GS now that if i get on the highway i like to get on it a bit because the ride is so smooth you dont feel like your even doing 90

love my car. i'm still relatively young and this car by far has the most HP for any car that I've owned. the smooth ride, quiet cabin and the ability (when needed) to put a fool in his place is why I love this car. as long as Lexus doesn't go crazy with their re-design, I'll be in the market for the 450H or 460 (or whatever flavor those have blossomed into) with my next car. Still hoping for the GS-F!!
