lol, actually it is. both the new 350 v6 and the 460 v8 engines are louder because of the direct injection. the 430 engine doesn't have that.

insulation is the same across all 3gs

and congrats on the new car CBRA928, that's fast!!!!!!! you are going to love it. time to mod

Also, if you are buying a car you should think about engine, transmition, brakes, mpg, resale value, repair cost and NOT about the Nav screen and if it looks a little better. Most of the NAV systems are obsolete compare to phones and stand alone GPSs.

Just my .02, good luck.
+1 People just can't compare the V6 and the big V8 in luxury car. The V8 lux cars are in the upper echelon, whereas the V6 is for the other...
Anyway, congrats to the OP for getting the 07 gs350. Enjoy your ride.

350 hands down. The 6 speed transmission helps tremndously. I have to say I find myself frequently impressed with the power and acceleration of the V6 and wondering .....DAMN how fast is the IS350. Its got to be at least 300 lbs lighter and is smaller with less overhang in the rear of the car. I have seen the IS350 do sub 5 second 0-60 times and I believe it

the 460 is, not the 430. 430>300 350>430 460>all, is the way I see it. I used to have the same mentality as this as well. My previous daily, which now sits in my parents garage, is a 745Li with a nice powerful V8. I thought psh v6 engines are slow, boring and unresponsive but the 350 engine redefined my outlook on 6 cylinder engines. Not only is it faster than my 7, its just as responsive while providing better fuel economy. I took my gs to the track and it ran a 13.8 and the fastest ive seen a gs430 run is a 14.3 so why would someone pick a slower outdated v8 to an updated v6 thats faster and gets better fuel economy?

the 350 is faster than the 430 thats the so what... new gen v6 > old gen v8.
If you think about it the logical choice would be to get the more up to date 350. The tranny is the same and the mpg is better than the 430. Resale value of an 07 350 with the same engine as the current model 350 is going have a better resale value than an older 430 being the predecessor of the new 460 in the future. Brakes are better in the 430 but going to repair costs which brakes do you think will be cheaper to repair? And about the navi screen, you're going to be the one in the cockpit everyday. You're the one who is going to be staring at that screen everyday. Which would you prefer a more updated nav screen or an older nav screen and just slap on a tomtom on the windshield and call it a day? Technology moves on and car engines get more efficient and faster so picking yesterdays technology over todays technology? Ill take a pass.

Amalan, you should take a look at the 450h. It would really surprise you I think. Sorry I had to 450h > 460

I really like the 450h but for a hybrid, it sure doesnt do a good job of getting good gas mileage lol. Its quick and all but I have a feeling that maintaining that car out of warranty isnt going to be fun. Regardless id love to try one of those out.

450h gives good mileage for the kind of performance it achieves. you should compare its gas mileage with gs460

touche, ive always been impressed with the 450h performance for a hybrid but i absolutely hate CVT trannys. It just doesnt seem natural to me for some reason. I dont want to hear the droning of the car stuck at a certain rpm while im accelerating. That is the main thing that turned me off from the 450h.

i completely see your point. drove the 450h a few times and the tranny does sound funny. nothing wrong with the car, just the characteristic of the cvt. but something i am not used to yet
