I blew the highbeam fuse and replaced it from a 15 to a 20 and have been problem free

thanks SRGS300. it seems changing the fuse is an alternative to getting the relay harness.

Can anyone with the 68 SMT led from v-leds.com tell me whether it has that disco ball effect when seen in person?

i believe that any led you place in your headlight is going to look like a disco ball in a picture. but not in person.

here are some pics of my 2x bright leds

just took these with my phone... hope that helps

Yeah they look really good in person. Up close they do look like a disco ball kind. But I get a ton of compliments on them.

Also each DRL has its own module. The module connects between your car harness and you LED bulb.

Relay and module seems like a awful lot of work just for a LED light and on top of that, you lose your high beam. I would hardly call that a mod for the better.

if you live in an area where highbeam is not really used then this is a good mod. if you live in the middle of nowhere by all means keep your halogens as it will be safer

By the way, how do you guys pass your state safety inspection? It is against the law to have no high beam.

One other option is to add a white LED bulb to the city light that is bright and disconnect the drl relay . This way it will not add its own color and you still have proper headlights. Never remove high beams and replace with LED's . Its vanity over function , all you need is one bad driver on the wrong side of the road and trying to get there attention to you with a lighter or small LED bulb will not work.

Here is a pic of GS I did with a large LED bulb with 1.5w SMD's on it.
On the left is the SMD and the right a plain filament bulb. Pics are super crappy since I had to use a video camera to take them as my camera was dead.
I also have a set on my 03 GS as well which are clearer.
On my GS the left is with my new SMD's and the right is an old 1 watt smd .

With the SMD they are brighter than the DRL by themselves.
It will make you want to upgrade the Headlight bulbs to a 6000K colour as well.
