just for future reference....how will my A/S Dunlop run-flats do in snow/ice? Luckily* I have the AWD...but was curious as to how these garbage tires will hold up.

Feel for all the Northeasterners this weekend...snow sucks. We were supposed to get 3-4"....as usual the weather honks got it wrong...got 1/2"....not that I'm complaining.

Yeah, I was on 77 and 81. Made it to Crozet where I'm staying with my cousin until I can get to my folks place.

Video of coming down the east side of Afton Mtn on I-64 E.

I completely agree on true winter tires and was caught flat footed on this trip. If I had known it was going to be this bad when I left, I would have driven the Jeep or postponed the trip. The car had no business doing as well as it did and I was very impressed at how well it managed given the circumstances. There were times that the snow was deep enough to drag the bottom of the car as i was driving. I rarely saw the TRAC kick in as long as I was light on the throttle and brakes. Pretty sure the combination of TRAC, Snow ECT, ABS & VDIM saved me along the way. Looking forward to some clear pavement on the trip home.

I got to use all kinds of buttons/toys on the trip so far!

Still snowing where I am and not expected to stop for another couple of hours.
Driving in a snow strom with a RWD in summer tires, you are lucky to make it to your destination in one piece.
