I was hoping my board would fit in the trunk, but it doesnt even come close. other than putting my board in the back seat (there are 3 of us going, none of which drive a truck or suv with 4wd) how can i get 3 boards in or on the car?

im seriously considering selling this thing. it does me no good at all. it doesnt snow here, so i dont need the awd unless i go snowboarding, which i cant do because the stupid seats dont lay down and no one makes a rack, i cant lower it without it shaking like something you find in a sex shop, and its slow as hell, its not even luxurious cause the stupid thing rattles too. as soon as my little one goes forward facing I think im going to get rid of it and either get a 07+ g35 sedan, an is350, or an suv.

I feel your pain. Thule doesn't make a rack for the GS so we can't go that route either. I have to either bum rides or go in a larger group so my car will be the people mover and the other car hauls all our stuff.
Just wondering...can you switch cars with your wife?

I'd look at the receiver hitch option and get a rack to mount them on that. Cheaper and less hassle than a SUV beater if you're doing it purely for this. There were some recent posts of the hitch being used to haul bikes and it looked like a good option for large, light items.

right, i was thinking they would fit in the trunk, but thats not going to happen, if the back seat split and layed down, it would be no problem. I didnt realize what a hassle the awd is other wise i would have never bought it. i wanted a white 3gs, and this was the only one in my price range. we are only going to flagstaff, so i dont see what the big deal about going in a car on 20s is, ive seen suvs on 24s and 26s up there all the time.

Another way to do this, I guess, is to put the boards upright in the front passenger seat, wrap a blanket around them and tie them to the headrest so they don't slide around. The two friends can sit in the back. Not pretty but at least it'll meet your goal.
