Had any1 experience any melting of the LED caused by the heat from the high beam bulb? I want to change this DRL to LED but concern about the heat. It does look to be far away from the DRL.

You can go with our white 194 LED Bulb for the brightest and most durable bulbs!

Isn't that LED too high for DRL replacement?

it is totally not for DRL replacement, DRL is your high beam on lowered watts

DRL is not the little bulb that sits on the side of the high beam?

guess not.

The moment I open the door, all the front light turns off.

So the little light sits beside the high beam is the parking light? Is there a diagram defining all the lights?

We're talking about the parking lights not DRL :-)

whlkev - send me a PM :-) I'm sure we can work something out.

Here are some pics (not the greatest):

Here are some comparison shots of polarg interior dome lights to our LED Dome Light Kits:

Polarg Hyper White:

Our LED Dome Lights:

Here is a direct quote from the customer:

The light output is much whiter, brighter and wider. Compared to the stock bulbs, these Polarg upgrades are like PIAA hyper white plasma bulbs for your head lights. I was pretty content with these bulbs, but having them for 5 years means that their lifespan is about to be cut short (glovebox Polarg bulb died earlier last week).

I didn't really think any lights could top the output of the Polarg Hyper Whites until I tested out the Putco "PURE" series of LED dome light. Installed into the passenger-side map light was a 3x3 model. It instantly outshines the other two bulbs in a heart beat. While it gives off a bluish tint to the light output, it wasn't annoying. I had the Putco LED light turned on for over 2 minutes and I can comfortably touch them without being burned.
Here is the full review for the Putco LED Dome lights that we carry.

Here is a video showing that these LED Dome lights can dim like your standard dome lights:

But will they fail from the heat of the highbeams? This is the only thing that has been stopping me from bothering experimenting with it.

We have not had any issues with the 194 LED bulbs failint. They are also covered by a lifetime warranty directly from Putco.
