if it's older ipod it will show viastech logo. my very very old ipod mini (you can imagine how old) and ipod nano shows the vaistech logo.

my iphone doesn't show that, it just say accessory

interesting that is what I have/leave in my car and I believe I just get a message that says "okay to disconnect" Wonder if its because I am gen 4 navi Man I feel like I have been cheated here

on gen4 nav, i have only worked with iphone and they all show the "accessory" message.

it doesn't really bug me much, it's just a logo anyway plus given that almost everyone has iphone now, if it was not brought up i kind of forgot the whole vaistech logo already

I took this in. It turned out the Vais unit was fried and had to be replaced.

They claim it was because I have too many aftermarket electronics installed, and one of those may have been interfering with the powersupply to the Vais unit (either the GPS locator, or the PS override). I don't think I believe that. The GPS locator is connected to an always-on power source so it can't be the same powersource as the Vais unit, and the PS override is completely separate.

Either way they covered it under warranty so I was pleased to be back in business with no additional expense.

sounds like bs to me too. i have done study on the ps override, it's a passive unit, i don't see how it can fry something else

but good though they replaced the unit!
