couldn't see spending 5-6K more for 40 extra HPs and less MPGs. Jesus...I can't even imagine how bad my gas mileage would be if I drove the 460...I'm getting ~15 consistently in my 350*

*all stop-n-go city driving.

another reason is Economics.

GS460 debuted in the shadow of this current recession.

everyone took a hit.

suspension, exhaust, brakes, i have yet to see any of those for gs350 rwd that don't fit on 450h or 460

after driving the GS350 loaner for a week, i am so glad i went with the GS460

different car for different folks, i just think what the GS460 offers justify the price premium over the 350

if you add up the difference between the model and calculate it. it's well worth it

better semi-aniline leather like on the LS, AVS, 18' rims standard, VGRS and after driving the GS350, I've noticed that the braking on the 460 is better, probably due to the ECB, electronic controlled braking or brake by wire

this is all on top of the v8 growl, for me.. totally worth it

Oh, I have all that in my GS430.

Some ppl don't like the "electronic control".

Oh, mine have only 6sp... I average around 25mpg.

I do have leather. Is there a different TYPE of leather? Honestly it's COLD in winter and this winter is the worst so leather is not helping.

yes, 460 has the semi-aniline leather which is a dyed all the way through, higher grade, and much softer than the normal leather used in other lexus. had it in my ls460l and it's significantly different

i also feel the ecb gives the car faster response on braking

Are better leather seats really worth the extra $8500? I would rather not have the brake by wire if I have a choice. The rest of the extra stuff is more like I can take it or leave it, none of it is a deal breaker to me. APSS would be the only reason I would buy a GS460.

I really think a big part is performance. 40hp is not that much.

If the GS460 had 380+ hp then I think more people would opt for that. I would certainly consider it if it came in AWD.

Look at the E350 vs E550... 268 hp vs. 382 hp?!

New 5 series, 306 hp vs. 407 hp?!

Yeah sure the semi-aniline other "options" are nice but they don't beat the straight-line in-your-face performance that you and your passengers can feel.

Imagine if the 3GS only came in GS300 with 245 hp vs. GS460 with 342 hp (which is a similar power difference between the German counterparts). Which one would you buy? and would the power difference alone justify the price difference? Probably more like so.
