Default Are GS 460's not popular?

I have been on this site for about 6 weeks now......yet I don't see much about the GS 460. Why is that? Is this model not popular..or are they hard to find....what am I missing here?

Costs more. Gives worse gas mileage. Gas is expensive these days.

I do about 7000 miles a year so I don't really care about the gas. I've only owned BMWs for the past 12 years, so GS460 seemed cheap relative to what I would normally have bought (BMW 550i).

More expensive, GS350 is quick enough for many with better fuel economy.

Default Should had a V-6 ;-)

I see.....I thought the V-8 would be very popular...so it would appear the V-6's are soon to become the preferred choice over the V-8's in many makes as well. (I bet no one here saw that trend coming coming 5 years ago ;-)

Plus the GS 450h outperforms it in terms of acceleration/fuel economy.

Marginally better acceleration from 0-60, but for my purposes which is 60-100 for purposes of passing left lane lovers on 2 lane highways, the GS460 is king. Can't beat the V8 in 60-100 and 90-120 acceleration.

E550 sells better because it doesnt have a hybrid sibling. Also Mercedes tends to draw people who are less value conscious since their cars are less good value. Lexus draws more value conscious wallet thinking customers and those people tend not to buy V8s when a V6 model offers great performance, more efficiency and better price.

Perhaps where you live. However, over here I've barely ever hit 80 mph (130 kph) maybe once or twice...so 0 to 60 is the most important thing to most people here + fuel economy. My average speed is around 22 mph (35 kph), so I would have gotten the 450h instead of a 350 had it been cheaper.

not sure if i agree with that. with the high tq from the electric motor, the high speed pickup of the 450h is pretty serious

if you live close to me, i would like to put that theory to the test! as long as my traction battery is not empty, i'm fairly sure i can give you a good run for your money.

Yup, I noticed that too. It's a PITA getting aftermarket partws for the GS460. Damn you F-Sport!

I need a nice pair of exhausts now, and have no clue what fits!

Lexus just plainly did not design and market the GS460 to sell in volume.
