Bought my 2009GS in Nov right before Thanksgiving. 4200mi so far and no rattles or noises. Having read about it on the forum, Ive been pretty paranoid and been listening carefully. Hopefully it stays that way - love the car either way.
if you ask me? don't be paranoid. enjoy the car, no need to pay special attention to any noises. if it happens, it happens. not worth it pulling your hair out trying to figure out any noise
That has been the most frustrating thing that I have had to endure over the course of owning several 2nd to 3rd gen GS...when it gets cold outside....its like snap crackle pop on the inside!

Yeah, Enjoying the car tremendously. Not going to let that bother me.
The OP wasn't very clear on why you're asking about the 3GS when you first mentioned the ES that's why I asked.
Just get an Accord.
Thats funny, Lexus bought my car back for rattles. My original gs300 (06) spent something like 48 days getting different rattles addressed without success. I asked Lexus to purchase it back, they did (no attorney needed).

I wen't to lexus checked vin wondering y was it lemoned law it had a rattle between dash and windshield the guy brought it 3 times and no fix was made. With a good lawyer u can get out of ure car for minor problems.
Had a center console rattle when I first bought my 09. Took it to the dealership and was fixed the following day ... it was like they were expecting people with rattles to show up..
