Just to be clear: I'm not suggesting that vaistech is bending the truth. Just wondering if there's more to this that he doesn't know. Maybe the TOYPD2 resellers have upgraded the firmware, for example.

I absolutely agree, if what vaistech posted is factually accurate. It contradicts this product description:

Just wanted to post an update.
I have confirmed that the TOYPD2 unit sold for $129 by one of the big Ebay sellers contains older firmware version that does not support enhanced browsing on Gen 5 navigation systems (browsing by artist, album, genre, etc.). Fortunately the seller is honest, and refunded my money upon request.
I ended up buying a VAIS SL2i-UP unit on Ebay for $199 from an authorized reseller.
I have confirmed that the TOYPD2 unit sold for $129 by one of the big Ebay sellers contains older firmware version that does not support enhanced browsing on Gen 5 navigation systems (browsing by artist, album, genre, etc.). Fortunately the seller is honest, and refunded my money upon request.
