Smile Hey a couple questions. Plz help

Ok so i'm new here and i'm about to join the Lexus club hopefully this week.(Totaled my Acura). I am twenty years old and live in Georgia. So i've been looking around the internet for a while and i'm a bit confused. As of right now im either getting the 07' LS460 or the 07' GS350. Its up to how deep he wants to reach into his pockets. Well im thinking about making my ride look nice and ive been looking up body kits. I saw a couple for the GS350 that I liked and are affordable, but for the LS460 im having trouble finding a body kit thats less than three grand. Also im thinking about buying a set of rims. Do i have to modify my car to be able to fit 20 inch rims on it. Lastly where can i have a body kit installed and how much will it cost. I'm not looking for executive level installation just installation and a little paint on the body kit. Thanks in advance. Hope to be here for a while.

I recently installed a full carson body kit with lip, sides and rear for 700.00 included paint and install. I'm not from GA so can't offer any advice on where to go.

Regarding rim size and choice, depending on how agressive you want to be, you typically do not need any modifications to run 20s, but if you decide to drop than of course you might need to. Good luck on your search and take your time.

if done right, 20s won't have any rubbing

check out carsontuned.com. it's a good place to start. you just need to make friends with google, and start looking to see what is out there. as to instillation, reach out to reputable local shops. tuner shops would be a good place to start; they can reccomend good paint/installers.

haha rominl is right lol... lexus mods are pretty expensive.

like the others have said. 20s will work with no modifications IF you dont drop the car. Usually you would have to roll or cut the fender if you do want to drop it. Tires play a big part in the rubbing game so get ur tire size right :P

A good body shop should be able to help you take care of the body kit install, provide the necessary adjustments, as well as paint/blend the body kit. Shop around your area and get advice/recommendations on people that may have had experience with a similar install.

Good luck.

I don't really understand why the wheel size has anything to do with it, as long as you are putting tires on that conform to the same rolling diameter of the original wheels shouldn't that be the only bearing as long as you don't get super wide rims?

couple of factors. with 20s some people want more cushion and put on larger (out of spec) tires on their 20s and that can cause rubbing.

or sometimes people put very wide wheels in the front and with the tires, when making full lock turns, it can rub the front and rear part of the front wheel well

and of course, if the offsets are too aggressive, meaning the wheels stick out too much, then no matter what tires you put on, it can rub the fenders

that's why i said "if done right".

wheel and tires are about 3 main things. tire size, wheel width and wheel offset. all 3 play a huge factor in what will rub and what will not rub

back to the op, no one can really give you a solid price on what its going to cost to paint and install a kit since every shop charges different rates and what not. your best bet is to call around.
