Default GS Service Manual Assistance

Hi All,

Recently purchased a GS and noticed that the passenger door panel by the seat belt adjustment area seems to be loose and not flush with the rubber backing by the door.

Does anyone have the process to remove the panel. When I lift the panel a bit I can see a clip and it appears to be missing a piece from the panel. I will most likely order a new panel, but hoping it's just a clip for the panel that's missing so it won't cost an arm and a leg

To clarify in case it's confusing, I've attached a pic. The area that I'm referring to is circled:

Thanks in advance!

Rick

Mine was loose at first too, it was easily fixed by applying enough pressure on it in various places until it just sort of popped magically back into place.

i believe it just pops in and out with clips. my guess is yours is loose and some clips are not aligned correctly / loose

if it's just missing clips, you should be able to just get new clips. there is no reason to get a whole new panel for this?

true, all good points, but I've tried to apply pressure to get it to stay and it still about 1/8 gap there. Maybe I'll try some velcro or even some type of bonding material, but worried it might impact the side airbags.

side airbags are on the side of seats i believe (someone please correct me)

the curtain airbags they are at the top part of the roof i think

the part that you circle there might not be airbags behind it. if you want lightly pull it open, maybe you can see where the clips are where it's "lose". working on so many lexus, a lot of times from my experience it's either the metal part of the clips got knocked out of place or missing (causing it not to clip), or sometimes the pins are pulled out and you need to disengage it, install again, and pop it in

hope this helps

totally helped. It looks like the clip is missing after i pulled on it slightly. I went to Lexus and bought the clip for like $2. The service rep was pretty cool and even printed out the design of the side panel with where the clips go and how to take it apart....sort of...just shows the parts and where the screws are.

Going to try it and the dash/ac dampening mod to fix some sqeaks.

Thanks all for the input and assistance. I'm hoping to get some springs and rims shortly....to be continued

So I'm pretty **** when it comes to doing my research and getting as much info as possible, so wondering if this: http://cgi.ebay.com/2006-2007-Lexus-...item19b95b282e

would give me the same info as if I had the actual service manual? Looking for instructions on dis-assembling the lower and upper panels.
