Cool Piaa LED or V-LED 194/168 wedge bulb?

Hey guys......
Happy Motoring...I'm sure this subject has somewhat been addressed but not necessarily DIRECTLY.

I would like to know....which LED is better if anyone has opinions? Piaa LED or V-LED 194/168 wedge bulb for the headlights/marker bulb (when the HID headlights are on....the wedge bulb is on)

After doing some extensive search someone mentioned the Wedge Miniature Bulbs melt due to the heat generated from the DRL (Daylight running lights) which is located in the SAME housing.

IS THIS TRUE?

Thanks......all opinions are welcome...and Please stay On-Topic.....

T.

I like hamburgers...

But yeah, I have no experience with them but I've read many times on the board that some LED bulbs fail due to the heat. It's another time for somebody to say search the board.

I am not using either of the two, but I've heard good things about the V-LED brand. I went with one from store.ijdm.com. To me it works wonderfully and matches my 6K lows perfectly. I had Lexus of Fremont disable my DRL's to avoid the LED from melting. What part of Cali are you from? Reason being, some Lexus service departments wouldn't disable the DRL's even though its part of our LPS (Lexus Personalized Settings) I hope that helps.

so it's FOR SURE......THEY "MELT" ?

right now I'm running the Piaa Wedge bulb extreme white.......
I'm thinking of going w/ LED's but not sure if whether to go w/ VLED or Piaa....
Also the Melting issue

I have a Lexus hook-up in So-cal ....but I don't want to disconnect the DRL

You don't have to disconnect the DRL, just disable it. That way when you drive in daylight they won't turn on but you will still have your high beam function if ever you need it. I've asked the reps from where I bought my LEDs and they did "imply" that they LEDs would melt if exposed to the heat from the DRL's after a period of time.

I have the 5K from v-leds. They work very well and do not have the ugly bluewish color. I had my dealer disable the DRL and they did it for free.

I have the PIAA Led's in my car right now, and they are too bluish for the stock HID color, id probably go with the V-LED brand.

My v-leds didn't melt when I had DRL on. I have disabled them since I don't like the yelowish color and wanted to have high beams which wouldn't happen if I would change them to LEDs as well.

The LED doesnt melt, on some cheapo LED, the heat from the DRL cause the LED to fail, not melt.
