Default Cold Start RPM Spike?

MY GS350 will initially idle at (about) 1600RPM when I first start it up after having it sit overnight. It'll stay at this RPM for about 5-8 seconds and then suddenly spike to about 1900RPM (these numbers aren't exact as I don't really recall what they are, really) and slowly decline as it warms (if I let is sit there and warm up, which is rare).

My question is, does anyone else's 350 do this?

this is normal for me in the winter*

not sure what temperature will cause this, but usually anything below freezing and the RPMs will spike until the engine temp gets to 40%.

I keep my car in a garage and it still does this, so I can only imagine how bad it may be for people who park outside when it's cold.

It spikes up and down a bit around 1200-1500 for the first couple of minutes, then a few more minutes of driving it stays around 1000, and when fully warmed up settles at around 600.

Hmmm...since everyone else chimed in that theirs does what mine does, maybe there's something wrong with yours? LOL

Very odd.

I believe my rpms are around 1600 and then drop down after about 10 seconds to around 6-800 rpms.
