hey guys i have read the instructions to link the home buttons to the garage. but for some reason i cant get it to set ..can anybody help me out??? thanks guys...

Did you set the garage door opener itself to the "learn" mode? (If it is one of the more recent openers +/- 10 years or old or so).

yeah it's likely that you have the running code garage door opener so you need to press the learn button on the opener (motor) and then the homelink button you programmed

I would start all over....

1. Press the 2 outer buttons, hold them till it flashes and the codes are cleared.
2. Link your door opener to one of the 3 buttons
3. Press the learn button on the garage door opener, then press the button you just programmed in your car.

* it helps to have a 2nd person for this last step as you have limited amount of time to complete this. Every door I have linked up the light will flicker to confirm its linked up. Make sure your car, and anything else, is clear of the door since it can/may close.

Its much easier then they make it in the manual IMO.

As I discovered some openers are specifically made to NOT work with homelink, like the gate to my condo garage made by DoorKing. My homelink is thus, useless for me.
