I have a 2006 GS430 @ 120,000 miles, and it doesn't seem to lose a drop of oil between changes.
I Got a 1998 gs400 which is essentially the same engine with 207000 on it and it does not burn a drop of oil. Excellent engine, just make sure to change timing belt and water pump every 100k
yeah. the 430 is the old school V8. probably the last truly great engine lexus made. direct injection has been a failure
I disagree with that....while not perfect...especially the 06 300...for the most part the 350/460 have been pretty good...better fuel economy and more power. I believe with better tuning the 350 should have had 340-350 hp and the 460 should have been 390-410 hp easily.
Actually the original v8 in the first Gen ls400 is the truly bulletproof over designed engine. You can turbo charge it or supercharge it and not worry about it it is so overdesigned. Several people have gone over a million miles on them without a rebuild
