anyone use this as of yet? Here are the options that came with my car.... any insight would be awesome!

NO ML, NO NAV, AM-SAT ONLY...

i was wondering if that's good nuff, if possible... is there a unit that would let me get video feed through my factory screen? thanks in advance guys

Yes, there is a unit that can give you video and have ipod controls. It's called the Vaistech SL2Vi. Most people here have that or the non-video counterpart SL2i. I wouldn't recommend that one listed on Ebay. In terms of ipod audio input only, the units by Vaistech or DiCE seem to work the best for our cars. They allow text display on the factory screen as well as steering wheel / screen controls.

hey mysteryan.... any chance you know if the SL2Vi is able to work with my non-ML and non-nav system? i'm a bit confused.... because the only other function my car has is the "am-sat" controls... thanks =]

Yes it will. I'm on non-ml, non-nav. It will function under CD2 and DVD emulation. You just press the Disc button (it will have 2 extra features when you add a SL2Vi). It doesn't interfere with Sat function if you have it.

It's only going to accept video from an ipod/iphone though. If you want universal inputs, you need the SL2vu.

OHHHH.... will it accept from both if i use SL2VU? which is more expensive? price is no object as long as i have ALL the functions i want

no, sl2vi is only ipod, sl2vu is composite. there is no one unit where you can do both

thanks for clearing it up rominl!.... i can't wait to get the sl2vu then hahaha... i was always confused between all the models.. anyone know where i can pull a good deal? (besides fleabay) it's been soo long since i've touched CL.... i'm already on the job to looking for the visors right now cuz i want my side window visors ASAP

hey guys, im desperate to know how i can install an oem ipod integration for my car.
ive been looking for an ipod integration for my 3gs for a while now.im still not sure which brand provides the best compatibility to my console (vaistech, soundgate etc).

my car has ML but non-dvd player. i'd be very happy if i could play videos from my ipod on the screen, but i'll be grateful if i could just play music. id prefer to avoid doing mods on the console. so if there's anyone who knows how or has the same specs as my console, pls let me know what to do.

vaistech SL2VI... it's the only one i believe, that plays video AND audio from your ipod =]
