Curb rash... what tires protect the wheels?
I went thru for a car wash yesterday and saw that I now have some small curb rash on the edges on some of the wheels. It must have happened while the tires were getting the tire black applied. It bummed me out that my 5 spokes now have some of that. Are there any tires out there that someone has put on that bulges out past the wheel. My tires are pretty new as I just got the car a few months ago.
Any suggestions or good experiences?

Stick some door weatherstripping around your rims, that should do it. Will look "full crap" though. :P
I think I'm done going through car washes period, let alone ones that make you go on a track at least unless I have my crappy 17 inch already messed up rims on it. Then who cares.

some tires have lip protector that sticks out a little bit on the edge but it doesn't help much if you hit the curb strong enough.
To me lip protectors are just ugly and useless. It looks weird especially if you stretch your tires.
You just gotta be careful when parking next to a curb.

Sorry, i should have been more clear. I haven't hit any curbs. this was caused by the track that the car goes thru at the car wash.
Doesn't seem like there is any tire that protects.
thanks for the reply's

As I recall, Goodyear TripleTred have raised protectors on some models. Best bet - check out the tires on Tirerack, they have hi res pictures of tires, and the lip should be visible.
