Default Need help on broken City light

SO I started installing the driver side city light with the 360 LED.

THe head of the light socket chipped off and the led fell into the body of the light housing. (Hopefully you can guys can picture it).

How do I get that head light off, or get into it to get my led out?

THe led isn't broken, and even the socket is still usable, but I couldn't figure out how to take apart the light to get in there.

Too clarify, this is the DRL/ City light housing, not the main low beam headlight.

Thanks guys

Roll a zip tie with electrical tap and try to stick it out.

yup, or use metal clothe hanger and put a lot of double sided tape at the end, stick it in carefully, and try to "stick" it out

thats why i come to you guys.
Great ideas, i'll give both a try tomorrow. Its a small small area to work with, even following the diy to loosen the airbox theres not much room.

Its really hard getting the light stick back in and then turning. Guess during the twisting and poking, the tip of the light socket chipped off.

I'll let youguys know tomorrow.

Thanks so much

uhh... you could always TRY this... go to lowe's or home depot, buy a nail magnet... the one the size of a pen, and try to see of the metal of the leads attract or not, if it does, you're in luck, easy in easy out =] i soldiered mine in because it was giving me problems so i can't really test it for ya... lol, ALSO, when you attempt to retrieve it, make the attempt through the main bulb (high-beam/daytime DRL)

best bet is to do what people mentioned above because remove the light is a pain since the whole bumper has to come off.

So, a piece of the part of the actual lens that holds the bulb broke or part of the bulb broke?

I hope the actual lens didn't break in any way that isn't repairable, the DRL and the lowbeams are both part of one expensive part.

or use a vacuum hose to suck it out of the high bean bulb hole.

Its actually the very tip of the socket where the bulb would sit in that broke off. After looking closely at it, on both sides, it seems that piece becomes fragile over time, and is easily chippable.

The headlight unit is fine, just chipped the socket piece and in that process obviously the bulb fell in.

Its 10PM est right now, and I'm going into the garage armed with masking tape, double sided tape, cable tie, a cut piece of clothes hanger, tweezers, and about 7 beers in me already.

I'll fiddle around and try to get it up and out so I can re-install again.

Update in a bit.

Actually took about an hour in the garage.

At first, the led bulb was visible in a spot wedged in the corner. I was able to use a hanger and shift it, but it finally fell into a crack towards the front of the car and was not visible.

So i'm going to order a new set, and I'll at least know how to install it next time, LOL.

I also took apart the airbox to allow more room.
