I personally think the cars interface makes it a little difficult to navigate through the ipod.
SWEET! I'm sold!

How long did it take them to install it?

If its plugged into the headphone jack (using aux) so I can use the ipod controls, will the music come through all speakers?

where did they run the aux port?

inside the center box, or somewhere else?

It's a male plug actally, not a female port.

I bought the car with it installed. The Isimple unit and the cables are in the glove box. Some day I will run the ipod and aux cables into the center console.

Is there a basic iPod connector for the 06 GS? id prefer to use the controls on my ipod then emulating the cd changer controls, etc...

Something that plugs into the head unit and just has a headphone jack connector to the iPod?

i can't think of another simple way to add an aux input to the car. 08+ has an extra aux, but the setup is different from the 06/07, don't think you can add that. you basically need a way to get the system to recognize a new input in a separate mode

I just bought and "installed" - 1 minute - a Philips tape deck adapter from Walmart. It cost $9.88, and before I left the parking lot I was playing my music from ipod.

Does anyone have the Viastech or Dice system in their GS? I was looking at those two options for a 2007 GS ML and Navi.

i had the isimple installed at bb and it screwed up my entire navigation system (i could not work the radio, the heat, the navi, NOTHING......). i thought it was a problem with the car and brought it to lexus and they diagnosed it as a problem with the isimple. they said it could have been defective. i am bringing it back this weekend to bb to have new hardware installed i will see if it messes me up agaon.
