Dissapointed in snow

I got caught in the snow storm that went up the east coast right before Christmas. 20"+ snow event. I bet I never used more than the first 1/2" of travel on the throttle and made no sudden movements in steering or braking. Was far from ideal, but I was able to navigate the interstates and side roads without ending up in a ditch. '06 GS430 w/ Michelin Pilot A/S on stock 18's. NOT a snow car, but did far better than I expected.

i remember an old integra i had that came with standard michelins, some kind of summer sports performance tire. It was awful in the snow, couldn't even get out of the driveway. then i replaced them with goodyear eagle gt+ 4,i can't remember exactly but it was a lot better. worst thing is no ground clearance, you will just get all that snow stacked up in front like a plow and go no where.
unless you are thinking about strapping a Fisher plow to the front of your GS and making some extra cash this winter hehe

We did get about 3 feet of snow here. Road was plowed but wasn't clean. My GS430 did have problems but no biggy. I drove slow and when I get stuck I do the back and forth, in less than 5mins I'm rolling again. Of course the snow tires will help too, but I usually don't get this much snow so it'll be wasting too much money when I already don't have much.
The 300hp+ won't get you out of the snow. It actually work against you. The harder you slam your gas, the more your tires will spin and form a nice ice surface around your wheels and make it worse.
Mine isn't lowered and already the snow rub the bottom like crazy. I can't imagine how horrible it would be if my car was lowered, the wheels would be unable to touch the ground. LOL

I think I'll need to get some snow tires then, specially since I'm lowering the car.
More than anything, it was embarrassing seeing other cars pass me up and me being just about the only one with problems.
