Putting miles on the car is fine, I think its usually the cars that don't get driven are the ones that have problems. I've owned my IS for exactly 3 months and I have 6,000 miles on it already from 5 =P

I bought my 06 in april of 08 and it had 32k on it. it now has 52k and it doesnt bother me. although i did most of my driving in 08 when i racked up 20k from driving back and worth to work. since i bought a beater, i think i put maybe 3k on it in 13 months.

I have a nice fully loaded 2008 with only 6000 miles. Anyone wants to buy it? Thinking about going back to an SUV...

LOL OP you sound a lot like my brother. his first car was a used camry that he babied and always worried about putting mileage on it - totally nonsense. just drive and use it for what the car was made for .

My 08 GS now has 31k miles (purchased may of 2008).
The 07 ES I used to drive - I racked up 20k miles before giving it to my sis - so yeah i do drive a lot but that is the entire point of having a car!

Agreed. The cars are made to be DRIVEN. See how many miles you can rack up and be proud of the high miles! Go for a drive and think about it. Now. Really.

oh man.

a GS is no trophy.

it's not a lambo you keep in the garage.

drive it like you stole it.

The only thing i can't bear is NOT being able to put 200k miles on it.

i have never been able to drive a car to 200k before it broke down. So i'm looking forward to it.

if i can reach 200k, and keep it in mint condition, i will give myself a pat on the back

Cars are meant to be driven and put to use!!!! Who cares about the miles...you'll end up trading it in and lose your a$$ either way.

I keep thinking about this thread, especially since I got my '06 GS300RWD in late-May and then retired in October. Went from filling up the gas tank weekly, to filling it up once every 2-3 months! It wasn't getting driven much, and with crappy rainy weather, I would tend to drive my truck than the GS.

Well the weather has finally gotten a lot better, and I've had reason to get out more the last couple of weeks. I don't even care about putting more miles on the car...'cause it is so much fun, and so comfortable, to drive. Heck, I now get to do an oil change tomorrow. Always like working on my cars too

If you don't want to put miles on a car, then buy something you don't like in order to avoid driving.
I'm going to drive my GS now... a lot.

Approaching 45k in ours. No big deal since it's a daily driver and what good would it be if you can't enjoy it everyday.

In Ferris Bueller's Day Off, they jacked up the Ferrari and put it in reverse with a brick on the gas to reverse the odometer... If I could borrow three more jacks (due to awd) from my fellow CL members, then I'll try this and report back.
