these wald tips are absolutely bigger than the stock ones. in fact, the tips fill out my rear lip perfectly. you'll see that when i post the pics up later tonight.

thx. you are correct in your assessment. the only reason why i went with tips instead of aftermarket exhaust is because my GS is a hybrid, and i want to maintain the hybrid quietness. it defeats the purpose of a hybrid (imho) if you add a tanabe or hks exhaust. and don't forget that the GSh is a CVT tranny, which means the aftermarket exhaust note will be continuous (if anyone has seen/heard the modded GSh in the targa newfoundland youtube video, you'll know what i mean). i ordered my tips from SR Auto Group (http://www.srautogroup.com/)

Nice. I also like these magnaflow tips. The dark chrome finish would look great on a black GS and the oblong shape matches the cutout on the stock bumper. However they don't have a bolt-on design. I guess that means they would have to be welded.

Why get bigger tips? Clearly the fashion trend these days is going towards this:

I saw one parked outside my condo today, and I had to do a double take at the exhaust on that thing. Kind of unrelated but it's interesting to see that Fords are starting to look a lot less cheapish in design these days. I'll never buy another Ford myself, as my first car was a Ford and I think it scarred me for life. I'll also never forget when my friend's mustang's engine blew and the drivers seat collapsed simultaneously.

i considered those but in the end decided against them.

because small tips don't look good if you have a lip kit (or a full bumper kit) installed. if i had wanted smaller tips, i would stayed with the stock tips.

Looks good when you look at it from up top, but from the rear its too oval for me. Doesn't flow with the rear lip right IMO.
