Default comparison between 300 and 350

I was convinced that I wanted a gs350 over the gs300, I was assuming the 2006 gs300 had the same straight 6 as in the past. Is the 350 that much better in terms of longevity, maintenance, MPG

pshh i'm pretty sure our V6s and V8s will too =] i believe the 430s are known to be reliable... im' pretty sure the 460 is nowhere far from it either, just biggar engine and direct injection?

^^ haha i would not doubt that as far as reliability and I know we'll be seeing high mileage 350s and 430s still goin strong

350 has about 60 more HP while getting just 1~2 less MPG over 300.

I'd go with 350 over 300.

bigger brakes on 350 is a plus, too.

to be clear, your assumption is wrong. the gs300 does not have the i6 anymore that was on the previous gs300. the 06 gs300 has a totally new v6, it has a bit more hp and also much better gas mileage compared to the old 2jz

I thought the '06 300 gs awd is the worst rated by consumer reports of all the 3 GS's. I think that they have been brought in so often for dashboard rattles that it adds up. And i've had 3 recalls on it: fuel rails, steering rack, and something else, can't recall. It does seem to throw a lot of false warning errors, the VSC light, low tire pressure, brake warnings...

i guess they are just really complex cars, and we are really picky lexus owners and every little thing drives us nuts. so things that probably would be ignored by owners of lesser cars drive us to the dealership.

remember the 2006 3GS was the first completely new design for lexus since the 01 SC 430. I wonder how the other subsequent 'new' lexus designs have faired reliability wise since the 3GS. New RX / ES / LS designs have all been released since our 3GS.

Hmm - lets see, the 350 owners say theirs is better and the 300 owners says theirs are better.

It's like going to a BMW board and asking if a BMW or MB is better.
