My brakes started squealing at low speeds (5mph). I went to Autozone and bought 2 packets of anti-squealing brake lube for $1.29 each. Then I took the pads out, one at the time, in order not to mix the shims up, and applied the brake lubricant between the shims and on the metal side of the pad. Total cost was $2.58, total time was 25 min. I am pretty sure at some point they will start squealing again but I think for the next year or so I am good to go. Then I'll do it again, if I have to.

Are you guys talking about squeeking where you are stopped at a light and you lightly let off the brake pedal? Cuz I've brought my car in for that TSB but it still does it lol -_-

Meh I gotten used to the squeeking. At least the brakes on the car works good. I had a HS250h loaner and that thing had some pretty bad brakes and I had to brake a good 1-2 car lengths earlier to stop in time.

The L-SB-0015-09 is for 2WD. Does anyone know what TBIS is for 4WD? Thanks.

I had my brakes replaced with a TSIB about 10 months/10k ago and the noise is back. Usually I would do something about it on my own, but since i bought CPO (with the premium i paid) I'm gonna leave it up to Lexus dealer and corporate to figure it out. If i touch it or work on it... i own it. I'm not letting up on this embarrassing issue.

I also started having this problem recently. When I called Lexus Cerritos regarding the issue they told me my GS had latest changes already at the factory and they have to charge me for any repair cost. But I checked TSIB and compared VIN # and I think I am covered. So, will see how Cerritos Lexus would react when I ask for confirmation regarding coverage coming Monday.

The Lexus dealer lubricated & oiled the brake system, and the squeaking has stopped.

That's when they squeal. But it's so easy to fix, I wouldn't even waste my time and gas to go to a dealer.

Initally Cerritos Lexus told me that I would be responsible but when I told them that my GS is covered under TSIB they are saying now they still need to inspect my car then it would be decided that whether TSIB should be done or not. I have appointment this Friday and will see what happens next.

my service advisor told me that the newer low-dust brake pads cause more squealing.

haha

I am glad you are abled & capable of doing the work yourself, but most of us can't.
