SO you will need to cut the purple wire as in the thread and also DVD bypass (even though you dont have DVD)
DVD override: If you have done the wire modification for nav, you have already taken the speed signal away from the cd / dvd changer. All you need to do additionally to allow DVD video in motion is to trick the dvd changer to think that the parking brake is applied. All you need to do is to ground the yellow parking brake wire. You cut the yellow wire in pics and attach a grounding connector (and wire extension) to the side that goes to the radio display and ground it to chassis. This way, car thinks it is not moving and the parking brake is applied (no dash lights come on) and lets your family watch DVD while car is in motion.

How is the video quality on the 06 screens? I've been considering doing this but not sure if its even worth it.

Yup, LCD itself is identical. Nice and clear. I gotta admit that video in motion is pretty distracting though when I'm streaming TV through the iPhone so be careful with that.

Oh snap! Sling finally lets you use your iphone to watch tv over 3g?!?!?!?!

Is it worth it to get the SlingHD?

oh ok...this is a game changer then. I don't have an ipod/iphone though so I need to see what my options are. I guess it all depends on what I want to do, but it does look like most of the features like music, movies, and TV run through the ipod/iphone.

Hi,

I have a GS350 2007. I don't have the navigation.
I have the touchscreen for audio and phone dialing with bluetooth.
I have an Iphone 3Gs 16 gigs.
I would like to know if the SL2Vi would be able to do this for me:
- Use the music on my iphone through my cars speakers
- Use the touchscreen to browse though the different songs on my iphone
- Use the bluetooth for the phone while i'm driving ( i already have this in the car, so I don't want to lose it)
- Playback video from the iphone.
- use apps on the iphone for navigation, the output of the iphone should display on the touchscreen of the car.

If it's able to do all of this I'm getting it!

Thanks for your input.
