You should have a wheel Allingment at least 1 a year, as pot holes and any other hard impacts knock your allingment out of place.
It's not a one time deal that is suppose to last longer; you pay a higher price and they will set your alignment as often as needed for the lifetime of the car. I had it on one of my older cars and used to get it checked and adjusted every 6 months.

well i finally got to exchange my tires - turned in the mich pilot sport a/s plus and got bridgestone turanza serenity installed. all i can say is that the consistent and substantial drift to the right is gone! the car does not drive straight in 180 deg by any means (goes slightly to left and sometimes slightly to right) but i'm glad the instant pull to the right is a thing of the past.

one thing i noticed though i think after replacing the dunlops is a minor buzz or wind noise from the left. it seems to occur only when i'm accelerating so i don't think it's the newness of the tires... any ideas?

Give your tires about 200 miles or so to break in and wear off the mold on the thread. It will get better with more miles and in terms of alignment, the tires will rest in their new position as they break in leading to better steering feel. Wait for a while.
