If warranty doesn't cover it, go to Toyota for the brake job. They'll probably charge you less than 100 for labor unlike Lexus (such as Lexus of Tampa Bay) who try to rip me off at every opportunity.

Thanks.
no they do not. my brother used to own a 1998 cadillac catera and that car had the sensors, and i thought it was going to be the standard. kinda weird that more cars (or lexus for that matter) do not have them

thanks for all your help. as long as it is covered by lexus (warranty or the SSC) it doesnt matter to me how easy it is

varcity,

I was hoping the answer would be different, but I very much appreciate your reply.

update to this thread...

i took my car in on thursday and sure enough my calipers were seized. when the dealer called me to tell me this, i was told that they were not covered under SSC 9LB since they adressed the recall by replacing the dust boots a year ago. they told me that since they were not seized last year, the issue with my calipers now would be my responsibility. when i mentioned the extended warranty i had, they took care of them, no problem. otherwise, that would have been $1k out of my pocket

they were stock pads and no painted calipers. if you think that will be a concern, go get some paint remover and take it off before you take it to the dealership. however, if you have been there since they have been painted, i am pretty sure they would have noted it. good luck and hopefully you dont have any problems
