it's actually not "Cool" it sits up too high IMO..
I don't think AWD is supposed to be cool. It's just practical. They probably made it sit higher because having that extra clearance is actually a good thing when you're driving over a snow bank to park, or driving through the wilderness with all sorts of rocks and stumps... you know, all the kind of stuff AWD owners do with their AWD cars.
Or if you take american truck commercials for truth, it's probably useful for pulling giant tree stumps out of the ground and climbing vertical rock faces.
