350. Bought my 300 couple months ago. Wish I would have test driven the 350 but had to buy my car within a couple days. Bought a passat brand new previous and had spent well over 6000 in repairs in the first 4 years of owning it and the ignition was going out which was going to add 1700 to repair bill for that P.O.S.

wow, thats what I have heard about the passats, I have wanted a wagon for a long time but no way since I have read so many stories just like yours. My Jetta GLX got traded in at the moment it was having motherboard issues and being poor I didnt have 2000 to spend on it.

as far as 300 vs 350, I wouldnt even bother with the 300. I have heard abotu the creaks and moans from the 300 especially the dash, screw that when you can get a 350 for a few more. I personally am waiting until I can get an 09 for around $32.5 with about 30k in gray, silv or blue as I want Lexus to have had thier time working out the creaks and moans issue.

I just bought a 06 GS300 I also drive the 350, the only difference imo was the quicker acceleration. I don't drive fast so I could have cared less, I just wanted to find out why the 350 was 8k over the 300. If your just looking to find a luxurious ride go with the 300 but if speed is what ur looking for go with the 350, but at 20k its a steal.

My cousin has an '06 GS300 and I have an '07 GS350. Interior is identical and the similarities stop there. The GS300 rides a little smoother in the city (17" wheels) but is noticeably slower when accelerating. If you're OK with that, get the GS300.

Both cars on the highway feel the same. It's not until you need instant power or need cornering capabilities (i.e. canyon or mountain roads) do you notice the benefits of the GS350 with 18" rims. If I had one wish for the GS350 would be better low end torque. You don't feel the torque until about 30 MPH.

I have a GS300, my sister has a GS350. Drive both.

Both cars are pretty identical except for 2 main differences. The 350 is a little peppier, with a little lower MPG. You can always put it in ECT PWR mode for more pep (drops mpg though, that's why I rarely do it). Acceleration is pretty good with the 300, but if you race all the time or floor a car frequently, the 350 would be a better choice. I'm sure if you punch both cars from 0-120mph, the differences would be more dramatic. Also, the 350 has Gen 5 nav. UI functions the same, but looks better. That's about it. They both handle identically (cornering, etc) which to be honest, isn't all that great. They both have a good amount of body roll with stock suspension.

Do you mean the 350 have the better suspenions or is it just the wheel size. If it's the wheels size I would switch them out for 19s or at least 18s. The power hopefully won't be an issue. Thanks for the comparison.

I'm used to the SC400 270hp so losing a few hp hopefully won't be much. I mean if I could get the GS300 for $20,000 that would be worth it?
