Default 3GS costs over $100,000 USD

So I was talking to my coworker in Shanghai and apparently, a 3GS Lexus over there costs a little over 700,000 RMB, which is over $100,000 USD.

Apparently the price spike is due to the commie tax. Like a 100% VAT tax, so Europe must not be too far behind. (And the US seems to be following this path as well...)

Anyways, I looked up salaries in China, and was shocked. I knew they made less than me, but I didn't know it was that much less. Like 1/8th.

To be making a fraction of what we make, but paying twice (or more) for what we pay for....geez. How do you get ahead in a country like that???

Anyways, just thought it was kinda cool to know that, although we drive a $50k car in the US, it's a $100k car somewhere in the world.

in china, public transportation is far more common than it is here. so car is not a "necessity" over there in asia. if you own a car, then you are very rich already. at that status, 100k for a car is "ok". otherwise, you are just taking bus or trains to work every day anyway

In Australia the GS300 Sports Luxury with M/L is roughly $103,000USD, And that is the entry level,
As we do not have the GS350, next up would be the GS460 then the GS450h.

So you guys are lucky.

Also when I was in China I didnt notice any 3GS the rich would rather go all out and buy a black S-class or 7 series instead of a 3GS

they either go all out or they just buy a Black Accord or Camry or VW Jetta, those 3 cars are everywhere in China

Yeah cars are expensive in Asia. GS350 RWD MSRP starts at about $85,000 USD.
