I recently installed it for a member, if you do the dvd and nav bypass, it will indeed play video. Works well. If you order it, I can tell you what you will have to do, basically you to the yellow wire mod and cut the pink wire, see the link in my sig

I found another kit for cheaper. It's called the toypd2. They say it's the same as the vais kit but the toypd2 is way cheaper. Anyone care to comment on the toypd2??

you wont need a swicth, but you will have to cut 2 wires....the unit itself is plug and play, but you have to fool it to think the car is not moving and parking brake is on....hence 2 wires are cut

http://www.vaistech.com/products/unath_res.php

^^^ this will answer your question on the toypd2 thing

also, it's only audio and doesn't have video like the sl2vi

like eye said, it's plug and play, but if you want to have full controls and enable video when car is moving, you either need to do wire cutting, or you need override kit. i have override kit

for me i got it from ps, chung@prestigioussociety.com

it's not cheap, it allows you to use the nav and enable video when driving, all plug and play so it's safer. but a lot of members do the wire cutting and put in a switch.

oh he doesn't have nav, i missed that part, sorry. then in that case, just gnd the parking break and cut the speed sensor wire and that should do it?

kitphat, vais is always plug and play, but what eye and i are talking about is how to enable video and song info when you are driving
