I bought a cheap roof spoiler on ebay thinking that it shouldn't really make a difference how much it cost. I mean, what is it....a non-functional piece of fiberglass attached to the top of your car. As long as it is professionally painted, should be okay. I buy quality where it's called for but I didn't think a roof spoiler was a big deal.

I stand corrected. A company called Auto Grimmig makes this thing and it's a piece of crap. It has cracks and uneven surfaces all over it. It's so bad the painter said he could make it smooth but he'd have to shave so much it prolly won't fit well. Plus, he thinks the cracks run deep into the material. The painter says he refuses to put this piece of crap on my very nice car. He said my car was too nice for this thing. He urged me to not take it elsewhere, just get rid of it.

Normally, I never buy the cheapest anything. I try to buy whatever is in the middle...in most cases. There are exceptions where the cheapest is fine but mostly, I don't do it without knowledge and information.
I got taken on this one. Beware guys.

Ugh...sorry to hear bro. I've been in search for one too and have looked at the eBay ones having the same thoughts you had; "non-functional so who cares?"

that's why i go with jdm stuff all the way and stay away from knockoffs...sure it's expensive, but the quality can't be beat. i stay away from the school of hard knocks.

Yeah but 500 plus dollars for roof spoilers that don't really serve much purpose just seemed a little much to me.
We're not talking about tires or suspension. Even trunk spoiler have more function. Roof spoilers are mostly cosmetic. I guess that's all that matters. Since it is cosmetic it needs to look tight.
Lesson learned.

fwiw, the trunk spoiler has zero function as well on our cars. it's only cosmetic

The company contacted me after seeing my poor rating of them on ebay. They are offering to replace the spoiler. I should just get my money back but I may give them a second chance. I mean this thing only cost me 60 something bucks. I'm not gonna cry over that. Might as well take a look at another. I wasn't gonna send the bad one back. I was gonna just throw it away but they want it back.
Maybe they can make this right.
