Help!
I want to get tints too, but I don't know where to go and what type to get.
I still have whatever factory is, and I want to get 35% for the windows... something for the back and the top part of the front (aka I want to stay legal for NY). Obviously I want someone that will do quality work at a fair price.
I live in the Queens/LI area, someone help me please!

Got everything but the windshield done today and am very happy with it. It actually looks darker than I expected for a 40% tint. I guess having a black interior contributes to how dark it looks from the outside. I'll get some pictures next week once the water and haziness starts to disappear. Will see how night visibility is this evening. Installer did an amazing job.

All Black on black w/20% all around and 50% on the windsheild looks great. The lighter the interior the lighter your tint will look and the lighter the color of the car the more tint will stand out. My rational is you get tint so you can t see into the car. In MD 35% is legal however the car already has 2 or 3% smoked glass from the factory so when you add 35% tint you still are illegal here in MD the state troopers have guns that test the tint. Anyway if your going to ride illegal regardless mine as well go with 20% you can still see out of it at night and people can t see in. If a cop pulls up roll the windows down and open the sunroof this will allow more light into the car and lighten up your tint. Most of the time a cop is only going to press you for tint if he s a ****!

What brand of nano tint are you using?
I understood only Huper-Optik and FormulaOne Pinnacle offer nano-ceramic tints.
That's definitely the way to go given superior heat rejection and minimal RF disruption.

I'm very pleased with the 3M Crystalline 40 I used, which I believe is classed as "nano". Not dark enough to affect night driving adversely, but virtually eliminates heat coming through the windows. I can place my hand within half an inch of the window while driving and not feel any appreciable heat coming through. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in cutting heat; well worth the 2x price to me. Another nice feature is it's warrantied through 3M, not the installing shop, so if there is a problem down the road, any 3M dealer can take care of it. The other high end brands may offer something similar.
The place I had mine done in Tampa used a pattern machine to precut the film to the exact shape of the specific vehicle, so the edges are crisp and a perfect fit. I've noticed no reduction in signal strength for GPS, Sat or cellphone since having it done.
The Huper-Optik is also suppose to be first rate stuff, but I plan to keep the car for a while and I know 3M knows how to do adhesives.
