New GS coming in 2011 is a myth

I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it is a smart move for Lexus to have the GS come out after the new generation E-Class and 5er. Gives an opportunity to one-up the competition.
I'll definitely make sure to get RWD this time though.

I am a Lexus fan just like you are, but I think it's fair to assume that all automakers want to one-up their competition. You could say that about pretty much any industry.

E class
5 series
GS
So the next GS will debut soon and it might be in Europe first since its an international car.

the current styling on the GS will last another 3 to 4 years IMHO....(I hope so anyways- it will keep value longer that way - as soon as a new design comes out we all lose 4 to 5 K value) It will be quite a while before the current model looks out of date style wise- 8-)

Agree that other models emulate the GS...examples include Jag XF, Buick, Genesis.
Ironically, this is also what makes the GS start to look outdated. The XF and Buick lines look updated and bolder. IMO, the back end of the XF is what Lexus should have done to the GS design.
Interesting that this next generation of Lexus updates takes on a critical role with its marketshare slipping.
For all of our sake, lets hope they do care about competitors...however, maybe their lack of interest in eliminating quality issues tells us they dont.
