your exhaust for 2K provides you with better exhaust tone under acceleration and perhaps some power gains. it's worth it to YOU because it gives you the sound, looks, and some performance that you are looking to achieve for your ride. for me, i'd probably would go the cheaper route because i can't see myself spending 2K on exhaust unless there was a significant difference in performance.

as for jdm hid fogs, sure you could probably get 10+ regular aftermarket HID fog kits with that kind of money, but then again i'm trying to achieve a specific look that is unique for MY car (just as you are trying to achieve the same with yours but with exhaust).

same with the OP here posting about his airrunner setup. no disrespect to OP, but i wouldn't consider spending $6K for airrunner when i could go with coilovers for one third the cost and get approximately the same kind of drop. it's great that the OP got his AR and he loves them, props to him for doing it; his ride is sick.

what this all boils down to is that we all have different priorities on where and how we mod our cars. OP wants to get AR, you want to get exhaust, and i go for hid fogs. all are expensive mods to do, and any regular joe off the street would say we're crazy for doing any one of those mods. it all depends on how you look at it.
