I am starting to look for a GS 350, and I am pretty certain I will be getting a 2008 model with RWD and navigation. Looking on Autotrader it appears certified pre-owned GS 350's go for $3-4k more than other ones.

Is it worth the premium paid to get a certified one? Also, someone told me I might be able to buy a non-certified one and then get it certified by Lexus for a fee - has anyone ever tried that?

You can always just extend the warranty on a non-certified car - and probably save a couple of bucks.

It will be less if not CPO but Its better to have CPO if something goes wrong its just as if you purchased new. You get what you pay for in this area. If your not worried about warranty then just dont get it period.

Never heard of Lexus ceritfying a car not bought from them.
I bought CPO and am very glad i did! I probably paid 2k more than non CPO but i think of it as, I would have spent that on a 3rd party warranty anyways. With the CPO warranty I get the repairs done without having to worry about deductibles, reimbursemet and i beleive in alot of cases you get a Lexus loaner.
