^interesting. that has been my experience of the GS. it doesnt seem to hold in the rain. the tires that came on the car, the Toyo tires on my work rims, and I have yet to try these new tires out.

hopefully this weekend I can test them out.

I've had these tires on for a few months now. I've experienced nothing but exceptional grip in dry and wet conditions alike. And we certainly had a record-breaking year of rain so far here in Northern Virginia.

i have them also, though they have less than 1k on them so far. very pleased with the ride and quitness to this point, much more so than i was with the General Exclaim UHP that i had previously. price was only 150 more for the Continental, so they're definitely a great deal.

U R not far from me. I guess I drive a bit rough. But it did slip a bit. The grip on wet paved road I give it 8 out of 10. But dry, it's 10/10. I did drive through a few standing water and I didn't feel it at all...10/10 on water evacuation. Idk about snow yet. For the quietness, it's about the same as my old conti tires (sport something).

Over all, I'm happy with it.

I'm a bit scared of speed cameras and cops now cause my car can take off so easily and quietly.

There hasn't been much rain here in SoCal since I've installed mine but when we had wet roads, the car felt very confident in terms of traction with these DWS. Far better than any I've had in the past. But, regardless of the tire, if the roads are wet here, I slow down big time and am very careful.

^ always slow down and careful. For me, I want to know the limit of my car too. Test it only when it's 'safe' but also not push it too far to lose control.

Same here. I've tested the limit of the tires on a few turns where no other cars were present, and there was little danger of a single-car accident as well.

I test mine at a redlight, just floor the gas a little... and the wheel slip a bit too easily. Hard for the car to lost control when it's speed is slightly above zero.

See, to me that test is not as important compared to wet cornering or braking. I haven't tried hard braking under wet conditions, but cornering in the rain was superb on these tires.

^ I can't risk that. And in the rain, I will never take the corner that fast. Maybe I will play around with braking.

If you want to minimize wheel spin you get Bridgestone RE-11. Not even a Corvette will spin with these Bridgestone RE-11s. If you want wet cornering stability you can't beat the Bridgestone Potenza S03-Pole Position although the Michelin PS2 is the best cornering wet tire in OEM size for the 3GS.

What's nice about the Continental DW is that it is superb on multiple dimensions, while not the best, and its cheap.

BTW Isn't the DWS the runflat version of this tire?

BTW if anyone here is looking at new tires, I am selling fairly new (70% thread count) Michelin PS2 ZPs for 30% of new price in the member classifieds. 3GS 18" OEM size.

I'm ready to upgrade to the Bridgestone RE-11 mentioned above.

DWS is not a runflat. Dry/Wet/Snow (DWS)

^ it's an all season tire so I expect it won't do great on snow.

got to finally test these out a little bit today. so far I'm pretty impressed at high speeds on the xpressway.
