All,
- Lexus performed a repair on vehicle due to major oil leak (took 4 days)
- Brought in vehicle (4 days after repair) due to A/C not working and engine overheating ("air pocket trapped in the cooling system bled the air out from the cooling system")
- 3 weeks later (finally nice weather again - didn't need A/C until now), drove home with same condition as before: A/C blowing air but NOT cooling (try that in 90 degree weather!). This time the vehicle is NOT overheating.
Any suggestions as to why the A/C is problematic? The car is 4 years old (and 2 weeks) and has about 50,000 miles on it.

A four year old car already needed frion replacement? Does that sound feasible? My other cars have been running strong for 6+ years without having required a replacement. Seems odd that this car would require it barely four gears.

Temp. outside (according to the vehicle) is 72 degrees - I tried the A/C and it worked fine. Seems that high temperatures (90+?) somehow make it so that the AC doesn't work. Could it still be the frion gas?

Yes, it could still be the refrigerant. If it is low, then it doesn't provide the cooling capacity needed to remove the heat from the hotter temperatures.

I brought the vehicle in for normal rattles 3-4 weeks back. The dealer informed me that there was a minor oil leak which required taking the entire engine apart. They did the entire service (5 days?) and gave the vehicle back.
Then I went to NYC and upon driving home, the AC stopped working (it was 95 degrees in Manhattan).
Brought the vehicle in and was told the air pocket was caused by the previous servicing (apparently they were supposed to flush the coolant & oil but never did).
